Expanding
the range, and a new Club in town... 1995 - 1998
The
Trilogy range started with The 166 (12 channel), 206 (16 channel)
and the EX140 (10 channel expander). They were a very low profile
design, due in part to the external power supply, yet contained
all the features the PA rental companies and bands were looking
for- 6 auxiliaries, 4 bus, inserts and direct outputs. It also
had the facility to switch the auxiliary outputs with the groups
effectively creating a stage monitor console with 4 mono mixes
and a single stereo mix for in ear monitoring.
The Trilogy became very popular and larger formats
joined the range. First the 326 (24 channel) and then the largest
of the range, the 406 (32 channel).
While
developing the Trilogy range the possibility of producing a
parallel, low cost set of products existed. This became the
Pro2 range and although the same dimensions
as the Trilogy, had a reduced feature set. This resulted in
a 25% reduction in price which helped sales in the USA especially
the large church market. The range never grew past the 163 (12
channel) and 203 (16 channel).
Next
up was the new compact range of mixers called the Club
2000. This replaced the now old Diamond products with
more features and was lower priced. The range started with 3 models
8, 12 and 16 channels and was later joined by the DSP which was
an 8 channel unit with on board effects processor.
